INVIS-A-DISK
A Disk Utility
Copyright 1986, 1987
Doctor Debug & E. E. Hrivnak
Anyone using a PC with a hard disk knows the frustration of
seeing the following message when rebooting:
Non-system disk or disk error.
Replace and strike any key when ready.
The doctor has frequently been tempted to strike the
computer instead of a key. However, there is now an answer to
this annoying problem. Invis-I-Disk will alter the boot record of
your data disks so that they will automatically cause the boot
process to "fall through" to your hard disk, thus rendering your
disk "invisible". No longer will you have to worry about flipping
the drive door open before rebooting.
There are two files which are needed to render your disks
"invisible". INVIS.COM is the run file, and INVIS.DAT is a
necessary data file. The command syntax is:
INVIS [d:]
where d: is the optional drive specifier (a: or b:). INVIS will
default to the A drive if no specifier is given.
CAUTION!
DO NOT RUN INVIS-I-DISK ON BOOT DISKETTES OR COPY PROTECTED
DISKETTES! Whatever was in the boot record of these disks will be
gone. I suggest that you use Invis-i-disk only on data diskettes.
